research

I have had 8 responses to this question, 75% have said yes and 25% have said no. A barrier for people not Being local the a gym could be lack of facilities meaning there may not be a gym near them. They could travel to a gym or if they don’t have the money for the they could look for an activity club closer to them so that they can still exercise.

research

5 (62.5%) people said that they do have enough money for a gym membership and 3 (37.5%) people said that they don’t. The barrier for this would be financial, some people may live by themselves and don’t have enough money for a gym membership on top of their bills and money for food. Instead of buying a gym member ship they could join a free club that does other activities to keep their fitness up.

research

For this question 7 people (87.5%) have answered yes and 1 person (12.5%) had answered no. The barrier could be that this person may have a mental problem such as depression or anxiety this would affect them as they might not have the confidence to go out and exercise. Another barrier would be health problems, a person may be overweight and therefore might not be comfortable exercising in-front of other people as they’re self conscious and are afraid of what people might think or say. Some people may also be disabled which would effect them at the gym on things such as the treadmills etc. To overcome this people may find a personal trainer so that they’re training in private or just use the weights at the gym instead of running machines and bikes.

research

7 ( 87.5%) people have replied to this question saying that they are not physically incapable of exercising and 1 person (12.5%) have said that they are physically incapable of exercise. A barrier of this could be disability’s. If this person is in a wheel chair then they could find a sport such as basketball that have a club on for people that are in wheelchairs so that they can have the same chances and experiences that other people have so that they aren’t left out, this would help people in wheelchairs or who have other disabilities a lot as it would build up their confidence and they are able to make friends and play something that they enjoy.

research

8 people have replied to this question, 5 people (62.5%) have replied with no and 3 people (37.5%) have said yes. A reason for someone not having a healthy diet could be drug addiction related. If someone has a drug addiction they may not eat much at all or may over eat foods that aren’t good for you. This could be resolved by this person going to a rehab center to get the help that they need to that they can get back on their feet and start getting healthy again, This will affect them exercising as they have a bad diet and would be spending their money on drugs or alcohol which means they won’t have money to go to the gym etc.

research

I have had 8 responses to this question, 6 people (75%) have said that they enjoy exercising and 2 people (25%) have said they don’t like exercising. For the people who don’t like exercising their barriers could be lack of facilities, they might of been to some places that don’t have many facilities therefore they have found it boring so have decided to stop exercising, to get them exercising again they could find a club that has different activities going on each week so that they don’t get bored of it, or they could go to a gym and change what they do each time they go so that they continue to go. They could also join a club such a football club so they make friends which will make it more enjoyable for them.

Research

I have done research for barriers to exercise. 8 people have done my survey, 4 people (50%) have said they exercise 3-4 times a week, 3 people (37.5%) have said they exercise 5-7 times a week and 1 person (12.5%) have said they never exercise. The barriers for this person not exercising could be health problems, mental problems and support networks. Health problems such as someone having asthma may stop them from exercising as too much running could end up making them have an Asthma attack, to stop this from happening this person could maybe change to doing exercises that doesn’t include running such as doing weights in the gym and doing walking football etc. another barrier could be mental problems, if someone has mental problems such as depression it could stop them from being motivated therefore they won’t want to exercise. This links with support networks, this person may not have a family member who supports them therefore they won’t have anyone motivate them. They could maybe get a friend to go to the gym with and help them get motivated to exercise.

Research

I have been doing research about barriers to exercise. I have had 8 responses to my survey altogether. 7 people (87.5%) have said that they do exercise and 1 person (12.5%) have said that they do not exercise. A barrier for the person that does not exercise could be that they do not enjoy exercise which could be solved by maybe finding a club where they can do a sport they like which doesn’t different activities each time so that people don’t get bored of it. Another barrier could be transport, so if someone is far away from something they may not be able to get there which also links with financial barriers as they may not have the money to get to bus or metro there this is a barrier because it will stop people from being able to do something they like. This person could also have a disability which could stop them exercising, they could find a club for people with disabilities so that they have the facilities so that they can do something that they like doing and don’t have to miss out.
